Good evening friends. This is important and warrants a double post.
I wrote in this post earlier this week that one of my best friends in the whole world Luis Perez (@livetoprogress on insta) would be receiving the award for being one of the top 100 Healthcare Leaders. He was honored tonight at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas at the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare.
This is a TREMENDOUS accomplishment and he works harder than anyone I know. He works in a clinic in Charlotte, NC where he helps patients establish a healthy lifestyle to help them ease off of their medications and then maintain their success. He runs his own business, Live To Progress and celebrated 17 years as business owner in 2019. He works as a health coach for Vida, servicing nearly 100 clients per quarter. He runs his own podcast, called Fit Talk with Coach Luis, organized a health fair, and was even featured in Reader’s Digest. He is a hustler, a powerhouse, and an all around gifted individual with a knack for inspiring others, including myself, to chase their dreams.
He was born in Brooklyn to parents who immigrated from the Dominican Republic. He struggled with obesity throughout his middle school and high school and found his passion for fitness in his 20’s. Shortly after, he got certified and started his own personal training business. He worked for a long time in commercial construction design and was also a firefighter.
About 2 years ago, the construction firm he was working with packed up shop and said “Bon Voyage!” with a severance package. Luis used that money, put it into his business, and it has taken off. All of his hard work has paid off and he is so excited to share this.
I’ve only known Luis for about 3 years but I feel like I’ve known him my whole life. I’m so proud of him and I hope that you’ll give him a “like” and congratulate him on his post. This is surreal to him and I want you to help me celebrate with him.
If you want to learn more about him, listen to his podcast “Fit Talk with Coach Luis” wherever you get your podcasts, or follow him on Instagram.
