Took a little hiatus because I adopted a kitten last week and needed some energy to apply to jobs and take care of end of the month things. Now that all of that is settled, I can come back to writing and refocus my efforts on my other projects.
A lot has been going on (all good things) and sometimes it can be tough to sort through them. Even a lot of positive things, say a new relationship, moving out on your own, starting a new job, or anything other life-altering event causes some kind of stress. That being said, it’s important to continue self-care and check in with your mental and emotional state. Sometimes our bodies will tell us they’re experiencing too much stress with a physiological reaction.
But, refocusing our efforts on being grateful and grounded alleviates that stress.
So, even with all the good things going on in my life, some of it causes me stress. Today I am grateful for:
- This adorable new kitten, Alaska, who fits right into my home and brings lots of laughs
- For the new opportunities unfolding and the doors closing so that I realize my dreams of being in the health and fitness industry
- For having mentors and friends to help guide me while I figure out the next steps in my life.
If you’re having a bad day, be thankful for your health, or what you have of it. Be thankful for your ability to walk, your ability to interact with the world, or for being alive to fight another day if you have an ailment or chronic disease.
