We’re in the middle of the week already and I feel like I’ve barely gotten started!
I’m still battling this cold (surprise, surprise) but I really hope I’m finally on the tail-end of it and I expel the phlegm like the little girl on The Exorcist. My cat, however, is making it difficult to write this as she demands to press the buttons on my keyboard.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. She reminds me that breaks are important by laying on my keyboard and that when the alarm goes off that I better be getting out of bed by putting her paws on my face.
Anyhow, today I am thankful for:
- Oddly, being sick. I’m forced to reevaluate my choices and how much stress I’m putting on my body. My body reminds me that I need more rest than usual right now and that I need to listen to it.
- The readers and followers on Medium, who are wonderfully encouraging. One even made a video response to one of my comments yesterday and now we’re connected.
- This sweatshirt/sweatpants combo that keeps me cozy on this frigid morning, despite my heat running. I think the temperature gauge in my atomic clock died (boo).
If you’re having a tough time today, be thankful for any downtime in your day that you have. Be especially thankful if you’re coming into a busy season of work, have a new baby, or experiencing personal challenges that are beyond what is manageable. You’re doing great sweetie.
In love and light,
